Infosys Will Follow Local Hiring Rules

Infosys, jiske paas duniya bhar mein 315,000 se zyada employees hain, ne kaha ki wo state aur central government ke rules ka paalan karege.

Local Hiring Rules: Thursday ko Infosys ke CEO Salil Parekh ne kaha ki company Karnataka ke naye rules ko follow karegi jo private companies mein local logon ko hire karne ke baare mein hain.

Infosys naye state aur central government ke rules ka paalan karne ke liye taiyar hai. Parekh ne kaha, "Hum plan kar rahe hain ki hum state aur central government ke sabhi regulations ke sath kaam karenge. Jo bhi naye regulations aur guidelines aayenge, hum unka support karenge. Hum dekhenge ki aage chal kar ye kaise develop hote hain, lekin humara approach ye hi hai ki hum nayi laws aur regulations ke sath aligned rahenge."

Karnataka State Employment of Local Candidates in the Industries, Factories and Other Establishments Bill, 2024 ko state Cabinet ne is hafte ke shuruaat me approve kiya aur isse Thursday ko Assembly me present karne ka plan tha. Yeh bill kehta hai ki "koi bhi industry, factory ya doosre establishments me management categories me 50% aur non-management categories me 70% local candidates ko appoint karna hoga." Lekin, is bill ko business leaders aur technology industry ke logon ki kaafi criticism ke baad hold par daal diya gaya hai.

National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) ne warning di hai ki agar companies ko kaafi local skilled workers nahi milte, toh yeh rules unhe shift karne par majboor kar sakte hain.

Karnataka ka proposal Haryana ke ek bill ke jaisa hai, jo private sector jobs me 75% naukriyaan state ke residents ko dene ki baat karta tha. Ye bill Punjab aur Haryana High Court ne 17 November, 2023 ko kharij kar diya tha.

PhonePe ke CEO Samir Nigam ne social media par proposal ko criticize kiya aur ise "shame" kaha. Unhone kaha, "Main 46 saal ka hoon. Kabhi kisi state mein 15 saal se zyada nahi raha. Mere father Indian Navy mein the aur poore desh mein posted rahe hai. Unke bacche Karnataka mein jobs deserve nahi karte? Main companies banata hoon aur poore Bharat mein 25,000 se zyada jobs create ki hain! Mere bacche apne home city mein jobs deserve nahi karte? Shame."

Industry leaders ne bhi suggested quota ke against strong reaction diya, ise 'fascist' aur 'short-sighted' kaha. Former Infosys CFO TV Mohandas Pai ne bill ko "regressive" kaha, unhone kaha, "Yeh bill hataya jana chahiye. Yeh unfair, outdated aur constitution ke against hai. Yeh Animal Farm ke law jaise hai. Yeh unbelievable hai ki Congress aisa bill suggest kar sakti hai – ek government officer private company hiring committees par baithega. Logon ko language test dena hoga?"

Biocon ke Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar Shaw ne kaha, "Ek tech hub ke roop mein, hume skilled talent ki zaroorat hai. Jab aim local logon ko jobs provide karne ka hai, hume apni leading position in technology khoni nahi chahiye. Highly skilled hiring ke liye ekjuth hona chahiye.

ASSOCHAM Karnataka ke co-chairman R K Misra ne bhi social media par in concerns ko share kiya, unhone kaha, "Govt of Karnataka ka ek aur brilliant move. LOCAL HIRING ko mandate karo aur har company mein ek GOVERNMENT OFFICER appoint karo monitor karne ke liye. Yeh Indian IT & GCCs ko darayega. Short-sighted."
